View analytics in the YouTube Studio app

You can use analytics to better understand your video and channel performance with key metrics and reports in the YouTube Studio app.

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app .
  2. From the bottom menu, tap Analytics .

You can also view reports at the video level:

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app .
  2. From the bottom menu, tapContent .
  3. Select the video you'd like to see data for.
  4. In the Analytics section, tap VIEW MORE.

You'll see different tabs that help you understand your data. To change the date range, click a card within the tab.

Overview

  • Views:The number of legitimate views for your channels or videos.
  • Watch time (hours):The amount of time viewers have watched your video.
  • Subscribers: The number of viewers who have subscribed to your channel.
  • Your estimated revenue*:Total estimated revenue (net revenue) from all Google-sold ads and transactions for the selected date range and area.
  • Realtime:Your performance over the last 48 hours or 60 minutes.
  • Top videos (channel level):Your recent videos ranked by views.
  • Audience retention (video level): How well different moments of your video held viewers' attention.

Reach

  • Impressions:How many times your thumbnails were shown to viewers on YouTube through registered impressions.
  • Impression click-through rate:How often viewers watched a video after seeing a thumbnail.
  • Views:The number of legitimate views for your channels or videos.
  • Unique viewers:Estimated number of viewers that watched your content within the selected date range.
  • Traffic source types:How viewers found your content.
  • Top external sources:Traffic from websites and apps that embed or link to videos from your channel.
  • Top YouTube search terms:Traffic from search terms that brought viewers to your content.
  • Top videos suggesting your content:Traffic from videos that brought viewers to your content.
  • Top playlists playing your content:The best-performing playlists that include your videos

Engagement

  • Watch time (hours):The amount of time viewers have watched your video.
  • Average view duration:Estimated average minutes watched per view for the selected video and date range.
  • Top playlists (channel level):Playlists with the most watch time over the last 28 days.
  • Top cards (channel level): Your channel's most effective cards over the last 28 days.
  • Audience retention (video level):How well different moments of your video held viewers' attention.
  • Likes (vs. dislikes) (video level): The amount of viewers that liked and disliked your videos.

Audience

  • Returning viewers:The number of viewers who already watched your channel, and returned to watch in the selected time period.
  • Unique viewers:Estimated number of viewers that watched your content within the selected date range.
  • Subscribers:The number of viewers who have subscribed to your channel.
  • Total members (channel level):The number of members who have access to perks. This figure includes members who recently canceled their membership.
  • Gender:Your percent of channel views by gender.
  • Age:Your percent of channel views by age.
  • Top geographies:Your channel's audience by geography.
  • Top subtitle/CC languages:Your channel's audience by subtitled language.
  • Watch time from subscribers:The amount of time subscribers have watched your video.
  • Other videos your audience watched (channel level):Videos from other channels that your audience watched in the last 7 days.
  • Other channels your audience watches (channel level): Other channels that your audience watched in the last 28 days.

Revenue*

*For eligible creators

  • Your estimated revenue:Total estimated revenue (net revenue) from all Google-sold ads and transactions for the selected date range and area.
  • RPM:The amount of money you've earned from several revenue sources per 1,000 video views.
  • Playback-based CPM: Your estimated average gross revenue per 1000 playbacks where one or more ads are shown.
  • Monthly estimated revenue (channel level):How much your channel has earned in the last 6 months.
  • Top-earning videos (channel level):Which videos earned the highest estimated revenue.
  • Revenue sources:How you're making money with YouTube.
  • Ad types:The format of the ad and its buying platform. This breakdown is only available for YouTube ad revenue and impression-based metrics.
  • Transaction revenue:Estimated net revenue from transactions, such as paid content and Super Chat.
  • Top geographies by CPM (channel level):Your estimated average gross revenue per 1000 playbacks by geography.

Note: To change your currency, tap your profile pictureand thenSettingsand then Currency.
